Tip 1 – Wait & See –Simple But Life Saving

It’s sometimes to tempting in Battlefield 3 to rush into the battle. As you know, only fools do that. Your first step to success in Battlefield 3 reinforces the virtues of patience. Take your time, and only sprint when necessary. Crouching is the best way to move in for the attack, and moving slowly will give you the heads up on your enemies location. That few extra seconds to pick the perfect shoot goes a long way to keeping you alive. However, as you move, don’t forget to look both ways; moving to slow could make you a target for someone else.

Tip 2 -The Shortest Distances Is The One That Leads To Death.

Though some of the maps are large don’t take the short route across. It’s almost always the one that leads to death. A number of maps in battlefield have a path that leads straight down the middle. But it’s the worst path to take.  Moving along the outsides and watchimg for the flanking positions, will sustain your life in Battlefield 3. The maps offer a number of positions good for flanking, and you’ll find your kill to death ratio take a huge spike in the right direction when you use them. Don’t hesitate to headshot the noob running across the sidewalk in the middle of the map, he deserves it.

Tip 3 – There’s No ‘Eye’ in Team, Excepted When Yours Gets Dotted.

Stick with your squad. Battlefield doesn’t take kindly to Rambo’s. Some may be able to achieve a high kill to death ratio, but wars aren’t won that way, and you won’t win matches that way in Battlefield 3. Points have the power to do all things, and you get most of them by being supportive of your squad. Move in packs, but not to close together. If you don’t have the shot on the guy, lay down some suppressive fire so your squad members can go in for the kill. Suppression blurs vision, so killing a suppressed tango is much easier when he cant see you. Also, you'll get points for the supression, along with a possible a kill assist- which will add even more points.

Tip 4: Know Your Role and Shut Your Mouth- Cookie!.

To continue the theme of team, don’t avoid the different classes. If your team doesn’t have a medic, fill the role. Healing and reviving them will increase your points. Whether its ammo, health packs, or shorting the respawn of your fallen comrades, all these things will increase your points total, making it easier for you to level up. And, People will also like playing with you. Take advantage of being the squad leader by marking objectives. When you do so your teammates will know what to attack next, and like everything else’s it increases your points when they do. Team base gameplay is the key to victory. Don’t be selfish, if your teammates are arming the objective; protect him; don’t try to beat him to it. The bigger picture is winning and working together.

Tip 5: Be Combat Ready

If you’re new to the FPS genre, play the single player first then jump into the multiplayer experience. Though most are pros at handling their digital weapons, there are a few adjustments you should make to your style of play that will keep you alive longer, and increase your stats. When in doubt throw grenades. If you’re not sure where someone is, tossing a grenade will either kill them, or give you an idea of where they are located. If even the slightest impact form the grenade is made, a hit detection symbol will warn you that some was hit in that area. If it does, laydown some suppression, and go in for the kill.

Adjust you rate of fire. Adjusting from burst fire is extremely helpful for accuracy, and for taking down that camping sniper. But there are those times when you need to unload a clip with no delay in your rate of fire; knowing when to make that switch is key.  Though the combat moves at fast pace you should take some time to crawl around- corners that is. The new prone ability in Battlefield 3 is one that will save your life. When you’re taking the deadly turn around a corner, you get the first look at the the kill-shoot. Most are looking for the head shot at eye level, and won’t see you until the kill cam reveals your position.

Your kill to death ratio is important in Battlefield 3, but the real benefit is playing as a team.  Dice has balanced the shooter by making team play the best way to improve you K/D ratio. If you accept the team focus you’ll find your ratio will improve more than you thought. Feel free to post your own tips and hints in our forums, but for now, I’d recommend you take these tips and make the battlefield run red with blood. Enjoy the war.
