Twisted Metal: Jaffe Reveals Last Minute Details on Combat & The New Demo
1/30/2012 11:42:46 AM by Robert MacNeroy

David Jaffe let loose some new details on Twisted Metal today. If you don’t follow DavidScottJaffe on twitter, I’d highly recommend you do, even if you’re not a Twisted Metal fan. His epic expletive enthused rants, and random response to every day experiences, should provide you with enough laughs, and passion filled commentary to keep the day moving along.

Just be careful when submitting a comment, although he is sure to respond, an simple question might get a not so simple answer. That aside, on his twitter he revealed a few details on some of the combat in the Twisted Metal reboot when one of his followers asked him if every weapon could be dodged. Jaffe said that he didn’t know if it was possible, then he explained further as to why he was unsure.

When I say I don't know if some weapons in TM are dodgable I mean, can YOU dodge a Napalm?!? I guess you COULD but I tend to just try not to get caught under the reticle and/or shield if I know it's dropping.”- He side via Twitter “Also, if you've got 5 people coming at you from various sides, I'm sorry but the world's best TMBO player- IN TMBO- could not dodge every weapon at the same time. THIS is what I mean. And depending on the distance a missile is fired FROM YOU and the angle will determine- along with the homing factor- if that missile can be dodged.”  “And SOME players can dodge better than others and some of us can't dodge at all. And some players are amazing at constantly moving and rotating around the enemy so the bad guy can never get a lock. AKA- I assureU, it's not like every weapon homes and there's nothing u can do about it.

Jaffe also confirmed that the demo hits this Tuesday, and revealed that the PSN demo will not have have split-screen play. He did however, detail a few of the full games multiplayer features.

“Co-op campaign is only split screen local, not online. Lots of team/co-op online modes for TM though, but not in campaign.”

Unlike some of the other Twisted Metal games, the reboot will feature one of the best boss fights the series has ever seen; according to Jaffe. Here's what he said.

“Dude, the final boss in tmps3(Twisted Metal) puts every other boss we've ever done to f&#? shame!!! Thing is epic!”

The Twisted Metal reboot happens on Febuary 14th , if you’re still questioning whether or not to join the vehicular war, check out our complete coverage of Twisted Metal in the next issue of GameHeadz the digital magazine.
