The shooter genre is the one genre that dominates the current tides of gaming. In 2011 we saw some amazing new shooters launch, of those shooters some push the limits more than others. Based on quality, reviews scores, and total sales, here are the best shooters to enter the world of gaming in 2011. These results reveal some surprising details for some of the most popular shooters released this past year. 

In order to determine which of the top games released ranked the highest, we tallied together the total sales, plus, both the user & critics review scores, to get what we call the ‘Accumulated Rank’. This number represent how well a game has done across all levels in which games are measured. We do this because some games review well but sell poorly, or sell well after being met with average reviews. To find out which games do the best given each form in which they are considered, we filter them through the ‘Accumulated Rank’ calculation. After pushing each game through the calculation this is what we found.

By using this system its revealed the number shooter to be Uncharted 3. The Accumulated ranking system should represent games that would appeal to the masses. Because sales of a title are base more on marketing and popularity, this is a good way to determine how a game ranks overall. Expect us to do more with this system in the New Year.
