Being able to get some hands on time with one of the most sought after MMO's this generation was a huge privilege. Though its hard to get a complete feel of an MMO without spending countless hours leveling your character, EA's setup for the game gave us a nice boost during the demo. Starting us out at about a level 40, gave us more than enough perks and powers to experiment with. The demo gave an inside look at what the game will offer to players of all character types. Jedi Knights, Bounty Hunters, Smugglers, and Sith Warriors are all selectable in the game.

Star Wars The Old Republic pulls some of the best feature from some of the top RPG's, and MMO's around. First off, the games engine is extremely reminisce of Mass Effect. Though Graphically its not on the same level, many of the features, such as story telling and character progression seem to be a direct derivative of Mass Effect. The multiple characters you're allowed to play will feature two different story lines, which will arc over a good vs evil system of choice. However, The player progression in Star Wars The Old Republic will feature much more depth than pass Mass Effect games. One cool feature is the games quick select Hud, a small Hud hosting many of your powers and abilities make healing and the use of social powers easier.
Bioware's influences are easily noticeable in Star Wars:The Old Republic. One influences all MMO fans will appreciate is the games cinematic story telling, which, features voice acting throughout the entire game, and some high quality facial animations; just to make it sweeter. The game also features the same conversation system used in Mass Effect, which, directly effects how your version of the story plays-out; Mass Effect style. This also completely removes the old MMO text reading currently use by most MMO's on the market, and helps to further immerse you in the games story. The Old Republic is more than your casual MMO upgrade.

Though it expounds on a formula made famous by WoW, there's a more connected mission system, and a massive world that's all joined together by an epic story and some cool combat. It's safe to say Star Wars: The Old Republic is an evolution to the MMO platform. Aside from a great story, there are a number of features that will trap almost ever MMO fan in the Star Wars universe. The games Crew skills will promote the use of guilds and cooperative play, the combat engine is diverse and the progression clearly shows the differences in powers. Real-time battles, PVP, and Operations are all modes Star Wars: The Old Republic will feature and benefit those who take part in them.
To add to your need to journey among the stars, there's a huge galaxy with un-numbered worlds for you to explore. However, To get to these worlds you will be required to fight among the stars in you own personal Star Ship. Surviving the missions that take place in space will not be an ease task, however, as your ship becomes more powerful, the battles will be legendary; so we're told. A galactic fight is on the horizon for those looking to jump into the Star Wars universe. From what we've played, it should satisfy both Star Wars and MMO's fans.
